Looking for some files in one of our NAS backups I found some shots from exactly 6 years ago, done during a project in the Faroe Islands (here is the full story).

Curious about the software improvements done across those 6 years, I decided to reprocess the files with the actual software and improved knowledge, and the results are clearly different.

The shoots were done with a Canon 6D equipped with Sigma 8mm. fisheye lens, a kit that we used for several years before upgrading both the Canon R6 and the Canon 8-15 fisheye.

6 years ago, we used Kolor Autopano Giga for stitching and HDR, importing 12 JPG shots exported by 12 CR2 files processed in Lightroom, and this is the result.

The current workflow always provides for the export of the 12 CR2s but then an intermediate HDR process and then the stitching phase using PTGUI we adopted when a few years ago the Kolor company and so Autopano closed forever, and honesty, the software is a great improvement in the process and of course, it is constantly updated, and above all optimized for the new Apple Silicon processors, achieving truly amazing speed performance!
